Nemours Mansion & Gardens
The Nemours Mansion and Gardens is a 300-acre country estate. With formal gardens and a classical French mansion in Wilmington, Delaware. Built to resemble a château, there are 105 rooms on five floors occupying nearly 47,000 square feet.
The estate has the most developed and largest French formal garden style Landscape Park and collection of individual gardens in North America.
The furniture is antique, much of it original to the mansion. Walk through the gardens after you’ve visited the house and discover fountains, sculpture and a maze garden.
Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library
This estate composed of a museum, garden, and library is home to one of the most important collections of Americana in the country. The museum and property were originally home to Henry Francis du Pont, a famous antiques collector and horticulturist.
The Winterhur Museum many rooms display 85,000 objects. Create an enormous collection of American decorative arts. Also on display are important pieces of American furniture, books, manuscripts, and images.
Winterthur has 25 miles of well-marked paths and trails, and lush gardens for you to explore. Children’s garden, Enchanted Woods, provides kids the perfect place to safely run, play, and imagine.
Air Mobility Command Museum
The Air Mobility Museum has over 30 aircraft varying in different roles and sizes. To name a few Cargo haulers, fighters, helicopters, a presidential plane, a bomber a collection of rare vintage aircraft.
The Air Mobility Command Museum dedicated to military airlift and air refueling aircraft. The men and women who flew and maintained them. It has the largest and most complete collection of restored U.S. Military cargo and tanker aircraft in the Eastern United States.

Brandywine Zoo is a small zoo in Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware. The Brandywine Zoo is an all-ages attraction for animal lovers. The Brandywine Zoo features animals from the tropical and temperate areas of North and South America, Asia, and Africa. The zoo animals range from more common species to the highly endangered.
Delaware’s only zoo features endangered species such as Andean condors, red pandas, bald eagles and more. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Cape Henlopen State Park
Cape Henlopen State Park is a Delaware state park in Sussex County, Delaware. There is a variety of marked nature and hiking trails at the park, ranging from a beach to pine forests.
Experience the park’s scenic landscape along the three-mile-long paved trail that loops the park. Explore the coastal environment along the Seaside. Or the Pinelands Nature Trails or hike the six miles of beach along the Atlantic Ocean.
Fort Delaware State Park
On Pea Patch Island, off the coast of Delaware you’ll find the 288-acre Fort Delaware State Park. This fortress built in 1815 as a U.S. army base after the War of 1812. The purpose of the base was to protect the harbors of Wilmington and Philadelphia. During the Civil War it served as a Prisoner of War camp.
The park can only be reached by ferry. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to offer historic programs to visitors. At the fort, you are free to wander on your own or participate in a guided tour or attend other activities on the Island.
Bethany Beach and Boardwalk
Bethany Beach is a small town on the coast of Delaware that is famous for its many beaches. The beaches are some of the nicest in the mid-Atlantic area.
